The Rules Of The Game
are as follows:
1. The Conservation of Numies
2. The Right of Refusal
3. The Principle of Onward Entrustment
4. The Rapid Release Requirement
5. The Rule of Reportage
6. The Discreetness Decree
7. The Trickery Dictum
8. The Maxim of Authentic Apprisal
9. The Personability Prerequisite
10. The Border Order
11. The Hospitality Axiom
1.
The Conservation of Numies
No Numies
may be created or destroyed without the express explicit permission of the Coordinator
of Numinous Bearings (the CNB).
2. The
Right of Refusal
Any individual elected by a Bearer to become the next Bearer of the Numie
has the right to refuse the Numie, at the place and time of Entrustment. However,
once a Bearer has accepted an Official Entrustment, he or she is required to
Pass the Numie onward.
3. The
Principle of Onward Entrustment
A Bearer may not give the Numie back to the same Bearer who originally Entrusted
the Numie to her or him in the first place. Each Bearer must give the Numie
to someone new.
4. The
Rapid Release Requirement
When a New Bearer receives the Numie, he or she should begin immediately
seeking opportunities for Subsequent Entrustment. In most areas, 1-2 weeks is
a sufficient amount of time for finding a Worthy New Bearer with whom to Entrust
the Numie. If you cannot find a Successor, and it has been over 2 weeks since
you got the Numie, you should apprise the Agency of this Fact. The CNB, or one
of the CNB's Regional Directors, may be able to assist.
5. The
Rule of Reportage
Bearers must report Numinous Bearings to The Central Numie Tracking Agency
within 48 hours of receipt of the Numie. Each report will be personally confirmed
by the CNB. Any Numie whose Whereabouts are unknown after Entrustment may be
deemed in Abscondance and appropriate measures will be taken to restore it to
activity.
6. The
Discreetness Decree
Each bearer is personally encouraged, as a direct application of
the Rule of Common Sense, to NOT tell Other People or the General Public, when
they do have a Numie. You would not want to think that people wanted to dance
with you just because you have the Numie! Or would you.
7. The
Trickery Dictum
Any Non-Bearer of the Numie is invited and indeed encouraged to mythicate
or knowingly falsify Numinous Bearings to any other person (excluding, obviously,
the CNB) for the sole purposes of increasing dramatic tension and mysteriosity
of the game, in particular in regards to the identity of the present Bearer.
8. The
Maxim of Authentic Apprisal
Bearers and only Bearers may report Numinous Bearings to the CNB. No party
who is not in immediate and exact possession of the Numie may report on its
whereabouts.
9. The
Personability Prerequisite
The Numie can only be Entrusted to its next Bearer totally in person. It
cannot be mailed to its next Bearer, left in a stashbox for him or her, or even
left alone and out of the hands of a tango dancer for one minute. This should
be easy to follow due to the fact that Entrustment always occurs immediately
after Dancing occurs, and Dancing generally occurs in person.
10. The
Border Order
The Numie may certainly not be taken out of the United States during the
process while this game is in action for whatsoever reason at all. (Obviously,
this applies only to USA Prequel, not the Planetwide Game.)
11. The
Hospitality Axiom
Numies must be protected and cared for just the same way you would care
for any human being dancer you were hosting in your community. They should be
handled gently and treated with respect. They are important Visitors, symbols
of the connectedness and high-spiritedness of our Global Dancing Community and
it is an honor to host one!
